Gillian Anderson (as Margaret Thatcher): A skirt suit Season 4, Episode 10, 'War' Custom-made midnight blue single-breasted jacket with subtle square patterns, with shoulder pads, round neck and blue and gold iridescent buttons, with matching pencil skirt (2) Footnotes: As seen in the Queen's audience with Margaret Thatcher following the Prime Minister's resignation. The scene depicts Olivia Colman (as the Queen) telling Gillian Anderson (as Margaret Thatcher) that she has great respect for the fellow female British leader, and as a consequence, bestows the prestigious Order of Merit upon Thatcher. Margaret Thatcher's term as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom began in 1979 and ended with her resignation on the 28th of November, 1990.
