A German Silver-Hilted Small-Sword Mid-18th Century With slender tapering blade (some old pitting towards the tip) of hollow triangular section etched with scrolling flowering foliage inhabited by a bird along one side of the forte, the other side ridged and etched with symmetrical scrolling foliage and an arm emerging from a cloud grasping a branch, hilt cast and chased with rocailles and foliage in low relief against stippled grounds and comprising side-guard joined to the lobed rear quillon and knuckle-guard, globular pommel with button, and swelling grip 65.5 cm. blade This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: * * VAT on imported items at a preferential rate of 5% on Hammer Price and the prevailing rate on Buyer's Premium.
