A rare William and Mary period silver double-lidded spice box Thomas Tysoe, London circa 1690 Shaped rectangular form, a reeded central hinge allowing the double-lid to open and close each side, the whole intricately engraved with swirling floral and foliate motifs centred by a classical figure on either cover, interspersed by birds and possibly a snake, with acanthus leaf borders, height 1.2cm, length 7cm, weight 1.5oz.
