Small Renaissance chest
Southern Germany, around 1600
Rectangular body with hinged lid, all sides with fillings framed by profiled strips, each
decorated by profiled tin medallions with mythological scenes. Ash and other native
hardwoods, forged fittings and iron bands. 18 x 43 x 28 cm. - Lock lost and smaller wooden
parts broken out, one profile strip missing. - Provenance: South German private collection
and Frankish aristocracy.

Rechteckiger Korpus mit anscharniertem Deckel, allseitig mit von Profilleisten gerahmten
Füllungen, diese jeweils geziert durch profilierte Zinnmedaillons mit mythologischen
Szenen. Maseresche und andere heimische Laubhölzer, geschmiedeter Beschlag und
Eisenbänder. 18 x 43 x 28 cm. - Schloss verloren sowie kleinere Holzteile ausgebrochen,
eine Profilleiste fehlt. - Provenienz: Süddeutsche Privatsammlung sowie fränkischer
Adelsbesitz.
