Madonna with child on reliquary base
Alpine or Northern Italy, early 17th century
On a polygonal base with an oval opening for relics, a half-figure representation of the
Virgin Mary in a garment rich in folds, on her left arm the blessing Jesus Boy with a
globe, holding the sceptre in her right hand. Deciduous wood, carved, partly gilded. H. 74
cm.

Auf polygonalem Sockel mit ovaler Öffnung für Reliquien halbfigurige Darstellung der
Gottesmutter in faltenreich gestaltetem Gewand, auf ihrem linken Arm der segnenden
Jesusknabe mit Weltenkugel sitzend, in ihrer Rechten das Zepter haltend. Zirbenholz,
geschnitzt, teilweise vergoldet. H. 74 cm.
